Below are a few projects to showcase the work that we do:

Youth empowerment with AgriProFocus

Since 2013, RDI has been a local partner of AgriProFocus Rwanda, a network with Dutch roots promoting entrepreneurship in farming and food security.

In October 2015, RDI organized the Youth in Agribusiness Festival. We mobilized more than 300 hundred youth to learn from role models in Rwandan agribusiness and more than 10 international NGOs supporting youth were present

Agribusiness training with AVSI

In 2015, RDI worked as agribusiness professional trainers in AVSI’s “CEI” project in the Gatsibo District. Our aim was to create income and livelihood opportunities for vulnerable rural youth through agribusiness.We provided technical know-how in different agriculture values chain such as maize, beans, soja and animal husbandry.Agricultural market assessments with VSO

Since May 2016, RDI has been working with VSO Rwanda and Three Stones on agriculture market assessment projects in Nyamasheke and Nyagatare District. The RDI team work as field researchers and contribute to data analysis, working with VSO to develop a value chain selection, sector and stakeholder analyses.

EDC youth livelihoods project

RDI has been working with EDC since 2015 as a local implementing partner. We’ve provided 62 out of school young people from the Gicumbi District with market-relevant life and work readiness training and support, hands-on training and opened opportunities for employment.

Farming is Cool with BALTON Rwanda

In 2015, RDI was recommended by the Ministry of Agriculture in Rwanda to assist BALTON Rwanda in organizing a school agribusiness competition called Farming is Cool. The initiative aimed to change youth mind sets towards agribusiness, while empowering youth with the technology, knowledge, skills, support and financing to engage in modern agribusiness.

Business start up training with World Vision

In 2013, RDI was selected by World Vision Rwanda as an implementing partner in training of rural youth. We worked with World Vision as business start up trainers of trainers, as part of its Economic Empowerment project. This empowered rural youth with business start up and entrepreneurship skills.
